The latest addition, named "Record a skill," enables users to record their workflow directly through Claude Cowork's interface. This could involve organizing your desktop in a specific manner or sifting through emails for important information. During the recording, users can provide verbal instructions to highlight key aspects of the task.
After capturing the video, the AI analyzes the content and transforms it into a skill that can be set up as a recurring task. This means that instead of repeatedly instructing Claude Cowork on how to perform a task, users only need to record the process once.
While the feature is part of Anthropic's subscription offerings, it is available even in the more affordable Pro plan, which costs €15 per month. This makes it accessible for users looking to streamline their workflow with AI assistance. However, the rollout of this new feature appears to be gradual, with reports from users on X indicating that not everyone has immediate access.
Once the functionality is activated in your version of Claude Cowork, you can find it in the desktop app by clicking the plus icon in the lower-left corner and selecting "Record a skill."
