Apple Watch Ultra 4: These 4 Features Are Currently Under Discussion
With the launch of the next generation of Apple products just around the corner, rumors about the Apple Watch Ultra 4 are heating up. We summarize the latest updates.

The fall of 2026 will once again be Apple season. The tech giant from Cupertino has more than 15 devices in the pipeline, including the first Ultra model of the iPhone.
For official news, we will have to wait until the big Apple Event in the fall, but numerous rumors are already circulating. Currently, the rumor mill is particularly buzzing about upcoming features of the Apple Watch Ultra 4.
First Major Design Update for the Watch Ultra?
The upcoming fourth generation of the Apple Watch Ultra could look different from its predecessors for the first time. Last year's model, the Watch Ultra 3, received only a few minor adjustments, but now more changes are expected, according to 9to5Mac citing Digitimes Asia.
This talk is about a "major redesign," although not many details have leaked yet. Geeky Gadgets mentions a titanium case that could be up to 15 percent slimmer, making the smartwatch more wearable in everyday life.
Double the Number of Sensors?
The sensor setup of the Watch Ultra is also expected to be redesigned. Instead of the four sensors currently installed, the new model is said to feature real sensors arranged in a ring shape, according to Geeky Gadgets.
The increase in sensors is expected to improve the accuracy of several measurements and minimize the "dependence on algorithmic data interpretation," writes 9to5Mac.
Improved Blood Pressure Measurement Function?
One of the already integrated features that is expected to benefit from the improved sensors is blood pressure measurement. The Apple Watch Ultra currently notifies users when it detects elevated blood pressure levels.
How the announced innovations will manifest is still unclear. However, according to Digitimes Asia, it is certain that the upcoming features will be reviewed by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and are awaiting approval.
A sensor upgrade that has been long awaited and hoped for is blood sugar measurement via the Apple Watch. Although Apple is already working on this feature, it is unlikely to be expected with the next Watch Ultra generation.
Improved Energy Efficiency?
Lastly, the Watch Ultra 4 is also expected to come with improved energy management. 9to5Mac states: "Last year, the battery life was improved for the first time in the Ultra series with the Apple Watch Ultra 3. And it looks like this could be the case again with the Ultra 4."
Digitimes Asia speculates that the improvements may be related to the optimized sensors and/or the new S-chip. Meanwhile, 9to5Mac also considers it possible that the battery may be reduced in size due to the slimmer case, yet still maintain improved efficiency values, meaning that battery life could remain the same despite a smaller battery.
Watch Ultra 4: Confirmed Details Only at the Apple Event
Until we know for sure whether and in what form the rumors are true, we will have to wait for the Apple Event, which traditionally takes place in September. It is quite possible that more rumors and leaks will come to light by then. t3n will keep you updated.
