Fritz has rolled out FritzOS 8.25, an update for several router models, enhancing features and fixing bugs. Check if your device is included.

Fritz has begun rolling out its latest software update, FritzOS 8.25, to several models of its routers. This update is significant as it provides enhancements and fixes for various issues, ensuring a smoother user experience. Below are the models that are currently benefiting from this update:
- Fritzbox 6660 Cable
- Fritzbox 6591 Cable
- Fritzbox 7590 AX
- Fritzbox 7590
- Fritzbox 7530
- Fritzbox 6850 5G (new)
- Fritzbox 6860 5G (new)

While many routers are currently receiving FritzOS 8.24 in its laboratory version, which acts as a beta software, FritzOS 8.25 is a completed update rather than a preview. This update includes a redesigned graphical interface for the DVB-C function, which allows users to feed free-to-air TV channels into the cable network. However, the specifics of this change have not been disclosed by the manufacturer.
In addition to the visual updates, FritzOS 8.25 enhances the online monitoring feature, providing a more detailed overview of the outage protection system. Compatible models can now automatically switch to a mobile network option in case of a line failure, given that such an option is available. The update also improves the usability of parental controls on smaller smartphone and tablet displays, along with enhancements to outage protection and compatibility with new browser versions, particularly concerning the user interface display.
Moreover, the update addresses several issues related to internet connectivity, telephony, and home networking. Previously, devices with static IP addresses were sometimes incorrectly shown as inactive, and the online monitor could mistakenly indicate that the WAN connection was down when it was operational. Additionally, remote access to the Fritzbox could only be configured while an internet connection was active.
For a complete list of all improvements and bug fixes, users can refer to the release notes provided by Fritz. The timeline for when additional models will receive this update remains uncertain.
