Significant Update for PayPal: Changes Coming to the App

PayPal is updating its app to enhance user experience with a streamlined design, making it easier for users to access essential features. Discover what changes to expect.

Significant Update for PayPal: Changes Coming to the App

PayPal, one of the leading payment services in Germany, is set to roll out a major update to its app, enhancing user experience by streamlining access to essential features. With over 35 million users in Germany alone, the company aims to improve navigation and functionality within the app.

The redesigned PayPal app will feature a simplified layout, notably removing the previously existing menu that was accessible via the three horizontal lines in the top left corner. This change consolidates app navigation to a single menu located at the bottom of the screen. Users will now find four main options: Home, Send, and Account (also referred to as "Me").

Prior to this update, PayPal users had access to five distinct sections: Home, Wallet, Send Money, Activity, and Offers. Post-update, the app will focus on three primary tabs. The Home tab will provide users with an overview of their current PayPal balance and any purchases made through the "Pay Later" feature. Additionally, cash-back offers, deals, and points for the PayPal Rewards program will also be accessible here.

The Send tab will consolidate all functionalities related to sending and receiving money, including the ability to create Money Pools for collective funding with other PayPal users.

The third section will display a history of transactions, deliveries, and active subscriptions linked to the payment service. Alongside these main features, a dedicated button for contactless payments will also be included.

While the exact timeline for the update's rollout remains unclear, PayPal has indicated that it will be implemented in waves over the coming weeks. Users still seeing the old interface will need to be patient as the changes take effect.
